Police Investigate Morning Shooting at South Toledo Apartment Complex

Authorities in Toledo are investigating a shooting that took place Tuesday morning at an apartment complex in the southern part of the city. Officers responded shortly after 8 a.m. to the area near Airport Highway and Sugar Creek Lane, where several police units were seen at the scene.

Witnesses reported that officers used crime scene tape to secure a section of the lawn in front of the building while they began gathering information. A Toledo police captain told WTOL 11 that one individual had been injured by a single gunshot and was transported to the hospital. Officials said the person is expected to recover.

Police have not indicated whether a suspect is in custody but described the situation as an assault. No additional details have been released at this time, and investigators continue to review the circumstances surrounding the incident.
