Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Guelph After Collision With Transport Truck

GUELPH ONTARIO, a pedestrian was critically injured Monday afternoon after being struck by a transport truck at a busy intersection, authorities said.
Emergency responders were called to the intersection of Gordon Street and Stone Road West, where they found a pedestrian suffering from serious injuries following the collision.
Police said the victim was airlifted by Ornge air ambulance from a nearby University of Guelph baseball field to a trauma centre in London. The extent of the injuries has not been fully disclosed.
The intersection of Gordon Street and Stone Road West remained closed as the Guelph Police Service continued its investigation. Officers were seen examining the scene, speaking with witnesses, and collecting evidence to determine how the collision occurred.
Motorists were advised to avoid the area and use alternate routes while the investigation remains ongoing.
Police have not released additional details about the pedestrian or the transport truck driver and said further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
