15-Year-Old Accused in Deadly Shooting of Ex-Girlfriend’s Mother and Siblings

Texas teen accused of killing three members of an ex-girlfriend’s family, Odessa police say.
ODESSA, Texas – A 15-year-old boy is in custody after being accused of fatally shooting three members of his ex-girlfriend’s family, according to the Odessa Police Department.
Police said the shooting happened Tuesday evening at the 87th Street Apartments. Investigators allege the teen went to the girl’s home and opened fire, killing her mother, 39-year-old Jessica Rodriguez, and two siblings — a 9-year-old boy and a 13-year-old girl. Authorities said all three victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
Police reported the teen ran from the area but was captured within about 30 minutes. He is being held at the Ector County Youth Center and has been charged with capital murder of multiple persons. Because he is a juvenile, his name has not been released.
The investigation remains ongoing.
A GoFundMe has been created to help support the family.
