Suspect Held Without Bond in Case Involving Vivian Police Officer

Authorities in Caddo Parish say the man accused in the death of a Vivian police officer is being held without bond following a court appearance. The decision was made after a judge ruled that no bond would be set for 58-year-old Nicolas Edward Alexander, who is scheduled to be arraigned on January 5, 2026.
Alexander appeared in court on November 17, where he requested a court-appointed attorney, stating he could not afford legal representation. Officials confirmed that an attorney has since been assigned to him as the case moves forward.
According to investigators, officers were attempting to serve a warrant for cyberstalking on Friday evening when the incident occurred. During the encounter, Vivian Police Officer Marc Brock, 25, was fatally injured. Authorities have identified Alexander as the individual responsible in the case.
The investigation remains active as officials continue reviewing the circumstances surrounding the warrant service and the events that followed.
