Potomac Mills Mall Incident: One Person Dies Following Shooting in Woodbridge

WOODBRIDGE VA, Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Tuesday evening at Potomac Mills in Woodbridge.
The Prince William County Police Department reported that officers were dispatched at approximately 7:10 p.m. to the 2700 block of Potomac Mills Circle following reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound.
Police initially secured the scene and stated that the area was contained, adding there was no immediate threat to the public. The victim’s condition was not immediately released.
By 8 p.m., authorities confirmed that the victim had been found outside the mall in the parking lot near Burlington Coat Factory. Early reports indicated CPR was performed before the man was transported to a local hospital, where he later died.
Additional details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting were not immediately available. Investigators remained at the scene Tuesday night collecting evidence and working to determine what led to the incident.
