Police Respond to Shooting Incident in Port Huron, MI; Lockdown Issued

PORT HURON MICHIGAN, Police are responding to an active and rapidly evolving shooting incident Thursday night in Port Huron that has led to a large multi-agency law enforcement response and a shelter-in-place order for nearby residents.
According to the Port Huron Police Department, officers were initially dispatched to a disorderly complaint in the 3000 block of 26th Street, between Nern Street and Manuel Street. As officers approached the scene, police confirmed that shots were fired.
Authorities stated that the suspect is now barricaded, prompting a significant police presence in the area. St. Clair County law enforcement agencies, along with fire and emergency medical services, are assisting Port Huron officers as the situation continues to develop.
A shelter-in-place order has been issued for residents in and around the affected neighborhood. Police instructed residents to remain indoors, lock their doors, and avoid the area until authorities declare it safe.
