PALO ALTO, A Palo Alto High School student has died following a tragic incident involving a Caltrain on Tuesday morning, according to the Palo Alto Unified School District.
District officials confirmed that the student passed away unexpectedly after the incident, which occurred earlier in the day. The student’s identity has not yet been released, and authorities have not provided additional details about the circumstances surrounding the incident.
In response to the loss, the Palo Alto Unified School District announced that grief counselors will be available on campus at Palo Alto High School to support students and staff affected by the tragedy.
“Our thoughts are with the student’s family, friends, and the entire school community during this incredibly difficult time,” the district said in a statement.
