Chicago Police: 6-Year-Old Boy Among Two Injured in Lincoln Park Incident
CHICAGO, A 27-year-old man and a 6-year-old boy were injured during an attack in the Lincoln Park neighborhood late Sunday night, according to Chicago police.
The incident happened at approximately 10:24 p.m. in the 2700 block of North Sheffield Avenue. Police said the victims were walking in the area when an unknown suspect became aggressive.
According to investigators, the suspect produced a sharp object and engaged in a physical altercation with the man and the child. During the encounter, the 6-year-old boy suffered a minor laceration to his back, while the 27-year-old man sustained a puncture wound to his left arm.
Both victims were taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital for treatment. Police said they were listed in fair condition.
Authorities said the suspect fled the scene on foot and has not been taken into custody. Area Three detectives are continuing to investigate the incident and are working to identify the person responsible.
