Boca Raton Hospital Nurse Fired After Social Media Post About White House Press Secretary

ALEXIS “LEXIE” LAWLER, A Boca Raton hospital nurse has been fired after a TikTok video surfaced showing her making violent and graphic remarks about White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, who recently announced she is pregnant with her second child.
Alexis “Lexie” Lawler, a labor and delivery nurse at Baptist Health Boca Raton Regional Hospital, is no longer employed after the video circulated widely online. In the footage, Lawler appeared to wish harm on Leavitt, using explicit language and stating it gave her “great joy” to imagine the press secretary suffering a severe childbirth injury.
The comments referenced a fourth-degree obstetric tear, the most serious form of childbirth-related tearing, which can involve muscle and tissue damage extending to the anal sphincter and may result in long-term or permanent medical complications.
The video quickly sparked backlash across social media, with critics highlighting that the remarks came from a healthcare professional working in labor and delivery. Many questioned the appropriateness of such statements given Lawler’s role caring for pregnant patients.
Boca Raton Mayor Scott Singer condemned the comments, saying they had no place in medicine or the community, according to CBS12.
In a statement, Baptist Health confirmed that Lawler was no longer employed following a review of the incident. The health system said the comments did not reflect its values or the standards expected of healthcare professionals. While acknowledging the right to personal opinions, the statement emphasized that language or behavior that undermines trust and compassion in patient care is unacceptable.
The hospital added that it remains committed to maintaining an environment built on professionalism, respect, and unbiased care.
The incident has drawn additional attention due to Leavitt’s public role and recent pregnancy announcement. A photo shared by the social media account Libs of TikTok, which helped amplify the video, appeared to show Lawler wearing a shirt featuring a rainbow and a political message critical of President Donald Trump.
The situation follows other recent incidents involving public figures and online threats or hostile rhetoric, as authorities and institutions continue to address the consequences of such conduct.
