Authorities Investigate Plane Crash at Provincetown Municipal Airport
PROVINCETOWN, Mass. — Emergency crews responded earlier today to reports of an aircraft incident at Provincetown Municipal Airport on Race Point Road in Barnstable County.
Authorities confirmed that a privately owned aircraft went down on airport property and subsequently caught fire. Fire crews arrived quickly and were able to extinguish the flames, bringing the fire under control.
Preliminary information provided by officials on scene indicates that one person was aboard the aircraft at the time of the crash and is believed to have died. Authorities noted that official confirmation of the fatality is pending notification of next of kin.
