New Footage Shows Plane Crash That Killed Former NASCAR Driver Greg Biffle and Relatives

New video has emerged showing the moments surrounding a fatal plane crash at Statesville Regional Airport that claimed the lives of former NASCAR driver Greg Biffle, members of his family, and other passengers.
The footage, captured by a bystander near the airport, appears to show the Cessna 550 Citation II aircraft in distress shortly before it went down during its departure. Emergency crews were seen rushing onto the runway as flames and wreckage became visible following the impact.
Officials confirmed that the aircraft, registered to a company owned by Biffle, crashed shortly after takeoff Thursday morning. Among the victims were Biffle, 55, his wife Cristina Biffle, their daughter Emma, 14, and their son Ryder, 5. The plane was en route to the Bahamas via Sarasota, Florida, at the time of the crash. Additional passengers who perished included Dennis Dutton and his son Jack, as well as Craig Wadsworth, a respected figure in the NASCAR community.
First responders provided immediate aid at the scene, but all who were aboard the business jet were killed. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), with support from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), has taken the lead in investigating the cause of the crash.
Witnesses described seeing the aircraft flying unusually low before the crash. Debris was later recovered near nearby properties, and investigators continue to examine both physical evidence and the newly released video in their reconstruction of the event.
Family members released a joint statement expressing profound sorrow over the loss of their loved ones and asked for privacy as they mourn. Former colleagues, friends, and fans across the racing world have also shared tributes.
The investigation remains active, and officials are expected to provide additional verified updates as they become available. Authorities continue to review all footage, including the newly released video, as part of their ongoing efforts to determine what caused the jet to crash.
