Logan County Investigation Underway After Woman Found Dead, Teen Son Faces Murder Charge

LOGAN COUNTY OKLAHOMA, Authorities have opened a homicide investigation after a woman was found dead inside a trash container at a home in Logan County on Wednesday afternoon, following reports of an altercation involving two teenagers.
According to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to the 900 block of Treviso Trail in the Cascata Falls neighborhood around 2:15 p.m. after receiving reports of a fight between two juveniles. When officers arrived, the teens were separated and taken into custody for questioning.
Investigators stated that during the response, one juvenile informed deputies that the other had admitted to killing his mother and placing her body inside a trash can at the residence near Coltrane Road and Simmons Road.
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation later confirmed that officers located the body of a deceased woman inside a dumpster at the home. The victim’s identity has not been released, and officials have not provided details on the cause or manner of death while an autopsy and investigation are ongoing.
Both juveniles remain in custody as authorities work to understand the full circumstances of the incident. Because of their ages, no names have been made public.
Several agencies, including the Logan County Sheriff’s Office and OSBI, continue to assist with the investigation. Officials emphasized that the case remains active, and more information is expected as the inquiry progresses.
Neighbors expressed disbelief over the incident, describing the community as usually peaceful. Authorities have also stated that there is no current threat to the public.
