Aurora Man Receives 6-Year Sentence in Drug and Gun Conviction

AURORA, A man has been sentenced to six years in prison following a drug and firearms investigation, according to the Aurora Police Department.

Police announced Monday that Eric Rosales, 18, received the sentence on Nov. 14 after pleading guilty to one narcotics offense and one gun-related offense, authorities said in a news release.

The case stems from an investigation in April 2025, when officers executed a search that led to the seizure of 13 firearms from a residence in the 1200 block of Gates Street. According to police, the weapons included AR-15-style rifles, a sawed-off rifle, shotguns, and several handguns. Officers also recovered a 100-round drum ammunition magazine.

Investigators said one of the firearms had been modified to fire fully automatically, and another gun recovered during the search had previously been reported stolen.

In addition to the weapons, police said they seized cannabis, THC cartridges, and nearly 90 grams of cocaine from the home.

Court records from Kane County show that Rosales was charged with multiple offenses, including manufacture or delivery of cocaine, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a machine gun, and possession of firearms without a valid Firearm Owner’s Identification card or while being ineligible to hold one.

Authorities said Rosales ultimately pleaded guilty to the machine gun charge and the cocaine-related offense, leading to the six-year prison sentence.
