DC mass shooting leaves four people injured in northwest Washington

WASHINGTON D.C., several people were hurt Thursday evening after a shooting was reported in Northwest Washington, according to officials from D.C. Fire and EMS. Emergency crews arrived at the location and immediately began providing medical care to those injured.
The gunfire was reported at about 5:40 p.m. in the area of 16th Street NW and Missouri Avenue NW, with additional police activity noted near 16th Street and Military Road NW. In response, authorities shut down 16th Street NW in both directions while officers secured the scene and carried out investigative work.
As of now, D.C. Police have not shared any details about potential suspects or the motive behind the shooting. Officials have asked residents and commuters to stay away from the area as first responders and investigators continue their operations.
Police have said more information is expected to be released as they confirm the conditions of the victims and make further progress in the investigation.
