Michael Duritsky Jr. of Addison, PA Killed in Fayette County Car Accident

ADDISON, PENNSYLVANIA — The Addison community and the regional racing world are mourning the untimely loss of Michael Duritsky Jr., 28, who died Wednesday evening following a two-vehicle crash along Route 40 in Fayette County.
Fayette County Coroner Bob Baker said his office was dispatched to the scene on Route 40 east, just outside the community of Hopewood, shortly before 7 p.m. Duritsky, a resident of Addison, was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries sustained in the crash. Officials said the driver of the other vehicle involved was not injured.
Pennsylvania State Police are continuing to investigate the incident. Authorities have not confirmed whether a tractor-trailer seen at the scene was involved in the crash, and additional details have not yet been released.
Michael Duritsky Jr. was widely known and deeply respected within the racing community as a competitor in the RUSH Late Model Series. Known by the nickname “Mad Dog,” he recorded two career victories at Pittsburgh Pennsylvania Motor Speedway (PPMS). While his achievements on the track were significant, friends and fellow racers say his impact extended far beyond competition.
Those who knew Michael described him as someone whose presence lifted others. He was remembered for his genuine smile, kindness, and the positive energy he brought to every interaction. Fellow drivers, crew members, and fans said it was a privilege to know him, and the memories shared with him and his race team will be treasured.
Michael leaves behind his wife, Jenna, and their daughter, Ryleigh, along with extended family members and many close friends. The Addison community and the racing world have joined together in offering heartfelt condolences and prayers to all who are grieving his loss.
