CHICAGO ILLINOIS, A fatal shooting took place late in the morning near 62nd Street and South Drexel Avenue, leaving one man dead following an exchange involving multiple individuals.
According to Chicago police, the incident occurred shortly after 11:30 a.m. in the 6200 block of South Drexel Avenue.
Authorities reported that the victim was sitting inside a vehicle when two male suspects arrived in a white Mercedes. An argument reportedly broke out between those involved.
During the confrontation, one of the suspects produced a firearm and discharged it, striking the victim in the chest.
Emergency responders transported the victim to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition. Despite medical efforts, he was later pronounced dead.
Police have not released further details about the suspects, and the investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
