Video Shows Moment Gunman Ndiaga Diagne Opened Fire Inside Austin’s Buford’s Bar

AUSTIN TEXAS, Newly released video footage captures the moment the gunman, identified as 53-year-old Ndiaga Diagne, opened fire inside a crowded downtown Austin bar early Sunday morning, resulting in multiple fatalities and numerous injuries.

The shooting took place at Buford’s Bar on West Sixth Street, a well-known nightlife location in the city’s entertainment district.

According to the Austin Police Department, officers responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 1:59 a.m. Upon arrival, officers encountered an active shooter situation and returned fire. The suspect was fatally shot at the scene. Authorities confirmed there is no ongoing threat to the public.

Officials reported that three people were killed in the attack, including two victims who were pronounced deceased at the scene. Fourteen additional individuals were transported to nearby hospitals for medical treatment. Several victims remain in critical condition, while others are being treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Law enforcement officials identified the suspect as Ndiaga Diagne, a naturalized U.S. citizen originally born in Senegal. Investigators stated that Diagne was wearing a shirt bearing the phrase “Property of Allah” at the time of the incident. Newly released photographs also show the suspect wearing an undershirt displaying imagery associated with the Iranian flag.

Authorities confirmed that a Quran was recovered from the suspect’s vehicle during the investigation.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is assisting local authorities and has indicated that the incident is being examined as a potential act of terrorism. Officials are reviewing whether the attack may have been influenced by or connected to broader geopolitical tensions involving Iran.
