Police Open Murder Probe Following Stabbing Incident in Acocks Green Area

ACOCKS GREEN, A murder investigation has been launched after a man was fatally stabbed at a property on Olton Boulevard East in the Birmingham suburb on Tuesday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the address shortly before 2 p.m. on January 13 after ambulance crews alerted police to a seriously injured man at the scene. Despite the efforts of paramedics, the victim was pronounced dead at the location.
West Midlands Police have since sealed off a house on Olton Boulevard East, close to the junction with Bretton Road, as forensic officers carry out detailed examinations. A cordon remains in place while detectives work to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
In a statement, a spokesperson for West Midlands Police said a murder investigation was underway following the stabbing.
“We were called by ambulance colleagues to an address on Olton Boulevard East shortly before 2pm this afternoon,” the spokesperson said. “A man was found seriously injured and, despite the best efforts of paramedics, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. The man’s family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.”
Police said the investigation is still at an early stage. Officers are carrying out house-to-house enquiries, speaking with potential witnesses, and reviewing CCTV footage from the surrounding area as part of their enquiries.
“Our investigation is progressing at pace to establish exactly what happened,” the spokesperson added. “A scene remains in place while forensic examinations are carried out, and local officers are in the area to offer reassurance to the community.”
