Tornado Strikes Union City, Michigan Leaving At Least 3 Dead and 12 Injured

UNION CITY MICHIGAN, At least three people have died and 12 others were injured after a powerful tornado moved through Union City on Friday, according to the Branch County Sheriff’s Office.

Officials said the storm caused significant damage as it passed through residential neighborhoods, leaving several homes heavily damaged or destroyed and debris scattered throughout the area.

Emergency responders reported that three of the injured individuals were transported to nearby hospitals for medical treatment, while others received care for various injuries.

“Our thoughts are with those who have lost family, friends, and property during this incident,” the Branch County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement as search, rescue, and recovery efforts continued across the community.

Authorities are asking residents to avoid traveling to or through the affected neighborhoods so that emergency crews can safely continue response operations.

Deputies also urged the public to take safety precautions while recovery work is ongoing.
