Officers responded to reports of a disturbance at the home around 3 a.m. When authorities arrived, they forced entry into the residence and encountered a disturbing scene inside.

Along with finding Perdomo dead, officers also located 44-year-old Gregorio Calihua-Mantiel deceased inside the same residence.

Investigators later determined that the incident appeared to be a murder-suicide involving Calihua-Mantiel, according to reports.

Authorities said Perdomo died from blunt force trauma to the head involving a bat.

According to reports citing the medical examiner, Calihua-Mantiel died from ligature compression of his neck.

Family members say the victim had moved to the United States from Honduras in hopes of building a better future.

In a GoFundMe fundraiser created to assist the family, Perdomo’s niece described the victim as someone who was deeply loved by those around her.

The niece, identified only as Rubi, said Perdomo was an incredible mother, a caring grandmother, and a woman who taught others the value of kindness and hard work.

Family members also said that Perdomo’s three daughters, who currently live in Honduras, are asking authorities for assistance in returning their mother’s body to her home country.

According to relatives, the daughters hope to bring her back to Honduras so they can hold a wake and provide her with a proper Christian burial.

One of the daughters told Honduran media that Perdomo had left Honduras nearly three years ago with plans to build a better life and eventually return home.

The tragic incident has left family members mourning the loss of a loved one they say was dedicated to her family and worked hard to improve her future.
