Lucky Massachusetts Man Hits $4 Million Lottery Jackpot, Shares Plans for Winnings

WOBURN MASSACHUSETTS, Playing a recently released State Lottery scratch ticket has proven to be highly rewarding for a Massachusetts man.
According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Jose Fernandes of Woburn is the first $4 million grand prize winner in the lottery’s new “$4,000,000 Cash Doubler” $10 instant ticket game, which went on sale Tuesday, February 17.

Fernandes chose the cash option for his winnings and received a one-time payment of $2,600,000 before taxes. He said he plans to use the money to purchase a house.
The winning ticket was purchased at Mobil, located at 386 Main Street in Melrose.
The store will receive a $40,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
Lottery officials said the “$4,000,000 Cash Doubler” instant ticket game still has two remaining grand prizes of $4 million available.
