Graphic Video Shows Aftermath of Shooting at Buford’s Bar in Austin — 3 Killed, 14 Wounded

AUSTIN TEXAS, Three people were killed and at least 14 others were injured following a mass shooting early Sunday morning at Buford’s Bar on West Sixth Street, authorities confirmed.
Officers with the Austin Police Department responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 1:59 a.m. at the popular nightlife venue located in downtown Austin’s entertainment district. According to Austin Police Chief Lisa Davis, a male suspect opened fire inside or near the establishment, striking multiple victims.
Three officers at the scene returned fire, fatally shooting the suspect.
Authorities stated that the suspect was neutralized and confirmed there is no ongoing threat to the public.
Two victims were pronounced deceased at the scene. Additional victims were transported to nearby hospitals, where at least one more individual later died from injuries sustained in the shooting, bringing the total number of fatalities to three.
Police reported that at least 14 individuals were transported to area hospitals for treatment. Three of those hospitalized remain in critical condition. Initial assessments indicated that as many as 17 victims may have been taken for medical care as emergency crews worked to stabilize the situation.
By approximately 3:30 a.m., law enforcement officers and emergency personnel were continuing to assess the extent and severity of injuries. The crime scene covers portions of West Sixth Street near Nueces Street and is expected to require several hours for processing.
Federal investigators are assisting local authorities as the investigation continues. Officials have not yet released the identities of the suspect or the victims pending notification of next of kin.
Austin Mayor Kirk Watson stated that city officials will provide updates as additional verified information becomes available.
The Austin Police Department reiterated that the suspect is deceased and that there is no continuing threat to the community. Authorities are asking anyone with information or video footage related to the incident to contact investigators.
The investigation remains active, and further details are expected to be released as officials complete preliminary findings and evidence processing.
