UNION CITY INDIANA, A school district employee has been arrested following allegations of inappropriate conduct involving students, according to local authorities.
The Union City Police Department confirmed that an investigation began after officers responded to a reported domestic disturbance. During the inquiry, information was provided that led investigators to examine potential misconduct involving a staff member and students connected to Randolph Eastern School Corporation.
As the investigation progressed, detectives gathered evidence related to an alleged inappropriate relationship involving a minor. Authorities stated that the employee was taken into custody and preliminarily charged under Indiana law. The individual is currently being held at the Randolph County Jail on a cash bond.
Law enforcement officials emphasized that the investigation remains ongoing and encouraged anyone with relevant information to contact police.
Randolph Eastern School Corporation confirmed that the employee was immediately removed from their position following the arrest. In a public statement, the district said it takes all allegations involving students seriously and is cooperating fully with law enforcement.
Superintendent Neal Adams stated that the district will continue to follow all required legal and personnel procedures under state law and board policy. He added that, due to the active investigation and the need to protect student privacy, the district would not comment further on specific details.
