Pratt Institute Student Death Under Investigation on Campus

BROOKLYN, N.Y., Authorities are investigating the death of a student at Pratt Institute after the individual was found unresponsive on campus over the weekend.
Law enforcement officers responded to the school’s main campus at 200 Willoughby Ave. following reports that a person had been discovered deceased. According to preliminary information, the student was found with significant injuries, and first responders pronounced the individual dead at the scene.
Officials indicated that the case is being investigated as an apparent suicide. The student’s identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
During the investigation, a section of the campus near 200 Willoughby Ave. was temporarily closed as detectives secured the area and collected evidence.
Pratt Institute officials are expected to provide counseling and support resources for students and staff impacted by the incident.
