Police Investigate Lansing, MI Shooting After Two People Reported Injured

DELTA TOWNSHIP MICHIGAN, Eaton County 911 is urging residents to avoid the area of West Michigan Avenue and Farmstead Lane in Delta Township following reports of an active shooter situation.
Officials confirmed that two individuals were injured in the incident. The severity of their injuries has not yet been disclosed. The situation occurred near Waverly High School, and the campus was placed on immediate lockdown as authorities responded and conducted their investigation.
Law enforcement described the suspect as a Black male wearing a gray sweatshirt. At the time of the initial response, the individual had not been taken into custody, and officers were actively searching the surrounding area.
Eaton County 911 advised the public to stay away from the vicinity, avoid approaching the suspect, and secure their homes by locking doors as a precautionary safety measure.
West Michigan Avenue and Farmstead Lane were temporarily closed while police worked to secure the scene and carry out investigative procedures.
The situation was described as active and developing, with residents encouraged to follow official updates and comply with instructions issued by authorities.
UPDATE: Authorities later confirmed that one suspect has been arrested in connection with the incident.
