Police Arrest Melrose Man Following Multiple Assaults Reported in Malden

MALDEN, MASS, A Melrose man has been arrested in connection with an investigation into a series of assaults reported in the Malden area, according to police.
Ralph Fleuristil, 35, was taken into custody Friday at approximately 6 a.m., Malden police said.
Authorities stated they had been investigating multiple assaults that appeared to be random in nature in and around the Malden Center MBTA station. Officials believe the incidents began around January 18.
According to police, at least two of the reported assaults appeared to be sexually motivated. Two female victims have been identified, and investigators believe there may be at least two additional female victims who have not yet come forward.
Police executed a search warrant at Fleuristil’s residence in Melrose on Friday, where he was arrested without incident.
