BURLINGTON, ONT., Law enforcement officials are responding to a reported shooting incident at Mapleview Shopping Centre on Friday, Feb. 20.
Authorities were dispatched to the mall after reports that a shot had been fired inside or near the property. As a precaution, sections of the shopping centre were placed under lockdown while officers worked to assess the situation and secure the scene.
Police units remain at the location conducting an active investigation. It is not yet confirmed whether anyone was injured, and officials have not released details regarding a suspect or any possible arrests.
Shoppers and employees inside the mall were directed to follow established safety procedures and remain in place as officers cleared the area. Members of the public and motorists are being advised to avoid the vicinity while the response continues.
