Man Seriously Injured After Domestic Dispute Involving Family Members

MIAMI, a Florida woman is accused of repeatedly stabbing the father of her child after discovering he was having a sexual relationship with her sister, according to police.
Jaqueline Rodriguez, 41, faces a charge of aggravated battery causing great bodily harm following an incident that occurred shortly after midnight on April 28, 2025, at an apartment complex in the 300 block of Northwest 177th Street. According to a probable cause arrest affidavit, officers were called to the scene after residents reported hearing what they believed were gunshots from a first-floor apartment.
When officers arrived, they observed blood on the front door of the apartment. After knocking and receiving no response, police forced entry due to what they described as exigent circumstances. Inside, officers found blood throughout the residence and located a victim with visible injuries, including scrapes and cuts.
The victim told officers he did not hear them knocking and said Rodriguez had used a knife during a physical altercation. According to the affidavit, he told police he was attacked and described the incident as uncalled for. He identified Rodriguez as the mother of his child.
Investigators said the victim reported that Rodriguez became angry after learning he had been having sex with her sister, which led to a confrontation. During the dispute, Rodriguez allegedly produced a knife and began attacking him.
Police wrote in the affidavit that based on the victim’s account, they believe Rodriguez attempted to cause serious bodily harm and permanent disfigurement. Although the victim declined to provide a sworn statement, officers documented his injuries with photographs.
Rodriguez was arrested around 1 a.m. on Sunday. Court records did not explain why nearly a year passed between the alleged incident and her arrest. In addition to the stabbing charge, Rodriguez is also facing burglary and grand theft charges related to a separate incident in which she and another man allegedly stole approximately $14,000 worth of items from a vehicle following a car crash several months earlier.
Rodriguez remains in custody at Miami-Dade Corrections without bond.
