Jericho High School Student Death Under Investigation; Community Mourns

JERICHO NEW YORK, The Jericho community is mourning the loss of a Jericho High School student who died Friday, Feb. 27.
School officials confirmed that the male student’s death was the result of a self-inflicted injury. Authorities have not released additional details regarding the circumstances.
In a statement, the Jericho School District expressed its condolences.
“We are deeply saddened by the news of the passing of one of our high school students,” the district said. “Our hearts go out to the student’s family, friends, and all those affected by this tragic loss.”
Counseling and mental health resources have been made available for students and staff as the school community processes the loss. District officials said support services will continue in the coming days.
Classmates, teachers, and families across the district have shared messages of sympathy and support for the student’s loved ones.
