Downtown Calgary Incident: Man Dies After Fall from Highrise Building

CALGARY ALBERTA, An investigation is underway after an adult male died Saturday evening following a fall from a highrise building in downtown Calgary.
Emergency crews were dispatched to the area near 10th Avenue and Macleod Trail, specifically the 1100 block of Third Street S.E., after reports that a man had fallen from an upper level of a residential tower. Officials stated that the individual fell from the 15th floor.
When first responders arrived, they found the man at the base of the building in critical condition. Paramedics initiated life-saving measures at the scene before transporting him to a nearby hospital. Despite medical efforts, he was pronounced deceased shortly after arrival.
The Calgary Police Service confirmed the death is being investigated as an apparent suicide. Investigators indicated that no foul play is suspected and there is no ongoing risk to the public.
Residents reported a significant emergency response in the downtown area Saturday evening, with police and EMS units temporarily restricting access while crews worked.
Authorities have not released the man’s identity pending notification of next of kin. Additional details are not expected to be made public out of respect for the family’s privacy.
