NBVC Port Hueneme on Lockdown After Shooting Leaves One Dead

PORT HUENEME, Calif. — An active shooter incident was reported Tuesday morning at Naval Base Ventura County, Port Hueneme, leading to an immediate lockdown of the military installation, according to official emergency alerts issued to base personnel.
Authorities clarified that the incident occurred on the naval base itself and did not involve the nearby civilian port facilities. All personnel on base were instructed to take shelter in the nearest secure building and initiate established lockdown procedures as a precautionary measure.
