Derrick Knox, 46, Killed in Princess Anne Shooting; Two Teens in Custody

PRINCESS ANNE MARYLAND, Maryland State Police have arrested two teenagers in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred Monday afternoon in Princess Anne, authorities announced.
Investigators said the shooting was reported at approximately 2:00 p.m. on January 26.
Responding officers located two adult men inside a vehicle parked on Dryden Lane, both suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
One of the victims was identified as Derrick Knox, 46, of Salisbury, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The second victim, identified as Kevin Pillar, 41, also of Salisbury, sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported by helicopter to a regional shock trauma center for emergency treatment.
Due to the seriousness of the incident, the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from the Maryland State Police Homicide Unit, along with the Office of the State’s Attorney, to conduct a full investigation.
Authorities said that shortly after the shooting, a 17-year-old girl from Salisbury was located near the intersection of Stewart Neck Road and Beckford Road and taken into custody.
Investigators later arrested a 16-year-old boy from Salisbury at approximately 9:45 a.m. on Tuesday, January 27, in Wicomico County in connection with the case.
Police said both juveniles have been charged with first-degree murder, second-degree murder, robbery, and additional related offenses.
No motive has been released at this time. Authorities said the investigation remains active and ongoing.
Officials also indicated that additional arrests are possible as detectives continue to gather evidence and interview witnesses.
