Canton Police Investigate Early-Morning Shooting That Injured Man in Southeast Canton

Canton police are investigating an early-morning shooting in southeast Canton that left a 43-year-old man injured after being shot in both legs.
Officers responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 5:45 a.m. near the intersection of Mill Street SE and Allenford Drive SE. Upon arrival, police found the victim lying in the roadway with significant bleeding. Authorities said the man was conscious at the time but appeared to be in shock.
According to investigators, the victim told officers that he had been ordered out of a vehicle before being shot twice. After the shooting, the driver reportedly fled the area, leaving the victim at the scene.
Police described the suspect vehicle as a green or blue Chevrolet Traverse. No additional information about the suspect or suspects has been released at this time.
Officers provided immediate medical assistance at the scene until emergency medical personnel arrived. The victim was then transported to Aultman Hospital for treatment. His current condition has not been publicly disclosed.
Investigators located two shell casings at the scene and requested additional personnel due to the size and scope of the crime scene. The investigation remains ongoing as police work to gather evidence and identify those involved.
