MICHIGAN, A family in Garrettsville, Ohio, is mourning the tragic loss of Aaron Craver, 22, who died Saturday night, January 17, in a high-speed snowmobile accident in Michigan, according to Michigan State Police.
State troopers responded around 10:30 p.m. to a snowmobile trail along County Road H-58 in Alger County after receiving reports of a serious crash. Investigators determined that Craver, a 22-year-old Portage County man from Garrettsville, was operating a snowmobile when he was unable to safely negotiate a corner on the trail.
Authorities said the snowmobile left the trail and struck a tree at a high rate of speed. First responders arrived quickly and provided emergency medical aid, but their efforts were unsuccessful. Craver was pronounced dead as a result of his injuries.

“Our hearts go out to the family and loved ones affected by this loss,” Eckola said.
News of Craver’s death has deeply impacted his family and the Garrettsville community, where he was known and loved. Friends and loved ones have shared tributes, remembering him as a young man whose life was tragically cut short.
Authorities have not released additional details about the incident, and the crash remains under investigation. State police reminded snowmobile riders to use caution, particularly at night and at high speeds, noting that winter trail conditions can change rapidly.
