YMN Woo Identified as Victim in River North Shooting, Investigation Ongoing

Chicago police are investigating a deadly shooting that left one man dead and three others critically injured early Sunday morning in the city’s River North neighborhood.

The incident occurred at approximately 2:35 a.m. on Sunday, December 28, 2025, near the intersection of North LaSalle Drive and West Hubbard Street, according to the Chicago Police Department. Officers responded to multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire and several people wounded in the area.

When officers arrived, they discovered four adult men suffering from gunshot injuries in and around a green Lamborghini SUV parked nearby. Police said the four men had been together and were in the process of entering the vehicle when the shooting took place.

A 34-year-old man sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the body and was transported to Northwestern Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. A 36-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was taken to the same hospital, where he remains in critical condition. A 43-year-old man sustained a gunshot wound to the back and is also listed in critical condition. A 35-year-old man suffered multiple gunshot wounds and remains hospitalized in critical condition as well.

Authorities later identified the deceased victim as 34-year-old DeAndre Golden. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office is expected to determine the official cause and manner of death.

Investigators stated that four unknown male suspects approached the group on foot and opened fire, striking all four victims. After the shooting, the suspects fled the scene in a vehicle. Police have not released descriptions of the suspects or the vehicle involved.

As of the latest update, no arrests have been made, and no suspects are currently in custody. Detectives assigned to Area Three are actively investigating the case.

Police said no information regarding a possible motive has been released, and the investigation remains ongoing. Authorities are urging anyone with information related to the shooting to come forward.
