Tom Durkin Identified as Victim in Fatal Chicago, Illinois Crash, Officials Say

One person was killed in a single-vehicle crash near 63rd Street Beach late Thursday night, according to Chicago police.
The crash happened at about 11:50 p.m. in the 6300 block of South Coast Guard Drive. Police said a man was driving southbound when the vehicle struck the median head-on. After the impact, the car caught fire.
The driver, identified as Tom Durkin, was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities said he was the only person inside the vehicle.
