Commerce Township Crash Sends Elderly Motorist to Hospital After Semi-Truck Collision

An elderly motorist was injured early Tuesday morning after being involved in a collision with a semi-truck in Commerce Township, according to local authorities.
Police said the crash occurred at approximately 7:15 a.m. when an 87-year-old driver’s vehicle struck the trailer portion of a semi-truck. Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene shortly after the collision and provided medical assistance to the elderly driver.
Authorities said the motorist was transported to a nearby hospital for further evaluation. The extent of the injuries has not been publicly disclosed, and no additional details about the driver’s condition were released.
The driver of the semi-truck was not reported to be injured as a result of the crash.
