Man Accused in Local Bar Shooting Case Pleads Guilty, Investigators Say

A Dayton man has pleaded guilty in a case involving a shooting at a local bar, according to documents filed in Montgomery County Common Pleas Court.

Officials said Jacob Brady admitted to charges of felonious assault and tampering with evidence. Court records indicate that an employee at the bar had video footage showing Brady firing two shots toward another individual. The victim was taken to the hospital and remains in critical condition.

Witnesses told police that the incident may have stemmed from a personal dispute involving a woman who was dating the victim. Brady, however, claimed he acted because of alleged threats, though investigators noted that witnesses did not report hearing any.

Authorities also noted that recorded jail calls captured Brady speaking casually about the incident afterward, according to court documents.

Brady could face a sentence of up to 15 years in prison. His sentencing hearing is scheduled for December 8.
