Albert Willis Identified as Victim in Christmas Day Shooting at South City Gas Station

St. Louis police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Christmas Day at a South City gas station, where a 68-year-old man was killed.
According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, officers responded to reports of a shooting at approximately 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 25, 2025, at the BP gas station located at the intersection of South Kingshighway and Chippewa. When officers arrived at the scene, they found Albert Willis suffering from critical injuries.
Mr. Willis was transported to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment, where he later died from his injuries. Authorities confirmed his identity later that day.
Family members shared that Mr. Willis had stopped at the gas station before heading to spend Christmas with loved ones. Witnesses told investigators that Mr. Willis briefly spoke with a woman outside the store. After the conversation, the woman reportedly approached an unidentified man, who then shot Mr. Willis. Both individuals fled the scene immediately after the incident.
At this time, no arrests have been made. Police have not released descriptions of the suspects and say the investigation remains ongoing as detectives work to gather additional evidence and review witness statements.
Albert Willis was employed as a top salesman at DC Auto Sales, located at Gravois and Nebraska. He was well known and respected in his profession, with family and colleagues describing him as dedicated, hardworking, and personable. Loved ones also shared that Mr. Willis had been battling cancer and continued working despite his diagnosis, remaining committed to his responsibilities and relationships.
He is survived by his daughter, Paris Dior, and a grandson. Family members and friends have expressed deep grief over his passing and are remembering him for his perseverance, character, and devotion to those he loved.
St. Louis City Police are asking anyone with information related to the shooting to come forward as the investigation continues. Community members and local organizations have also shared messages of support and condolences with Mr. Willis’s family during this difficult time.
