27-Year-Old Rhode Island Man Accused of Stabbing at Bally’s Twin River Casino

LINCOLN RHODE ISLAND, Authorities have arrested a suspect following a reported stabbing at Bally’s Twin River Casino late Tuesday night.

According to the Lincoln Police Department, officers responded to the casino at approximately 10:30 p.m. after receiving reports of a stabbing.

When officers arrived, they determined that the victim had already been transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. Initial information also indicated that the victim was not located within the Town of Lincoln at the time of the incident.

The investigation quickly involved multiple agencies. With assistance from the Rhode Island State Police, Providence Police Department, and Bally’s Twin River Casino security and surveillance teams, investigators were able to gather information and identify a suspect.

Authorities located the suspect at the scene and took him into custody.

Police identified the suspect as 27-year-old William Pona of Providence, Rhode Island.

Officials later confirmed that the victim had been located and was receiving medical treatment.

Pona remained in custody and was scheduled to be arraigned at the Kent County Courthouse.

The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
