Cook Islands Car Accident: Remembering Enzo La Hoz Calassara

COOK ISLANDS, The Dartmouth community and the cities of Hanover, New Hampshire, and St. Paul, Minnesota, are mourning the loss of Enzo La Hoz Calassara, who passed away on March 1 following an accident in the Cook Islands.
Enzo was a valued member of Dartmouth College’s Class of 2027, where he was pursuing majors in Cognitive Science and Music. His academic journey reflected both intellectual curiosity and artistic passion, combining analytical study with creative expression.
Originally from St. Paul, Minnesota, Enzo maintained a strong connection to the arts. As a former Sound Design Intern at Stages Theatre Company, he contributed behind the scenes to theatrical productions, helping shape performances through technical skill and creativity. Colleagues recall his focus, imagination, and dedication to his craft.
Friends and classmates described Enzo as thoughtful, collaborative, and genuine. He was known for his ability to listen carefully, engage meaningfully, and support those around him. In academic settings, rehearsal spaces, and personal relationships, he was regarded as both talented and kind.
His passing has deeply affected the Dartmouth campus and his hometown community, where family, friends, mentors, and peers continue to reflect on his life and contributions.
Though his time was brief, those who knew him say his influence remains present through the music he created, the academic work he pursued, and the lasting impressions he left on others.
