Everett Shooting Investigation Underway After ShotSpotter Alert Near 66 Main Street

EVERETT, Authorities are investigating a reported shooting after a ShotSpotter system detected eight rounds fired near 66 Main Street.
Police responded to the alert and canvassed the surrounding area, initially reporting that no victims were located upon arrival. A ballistic detection K-9 unit was requested to assist officers in searching for shell casings and other potential evidence.
Preliminary information indicates the suspect vehicle was described as a green Volkswagen Jetta occupied by two males. The individuals were reportedly seen leaving the area toward the rotary shortly after the gunfire. The Massachusetts State Police Air Wing conducted an aerial search as part of the coordinated response to locate those involved.
Authorities later confirmed that one individual was found at a nearby residence on Park Terrace with a superficial gunshot wound to the arm. Emergency Medical Services responded to evaluate and treat the injury.
A ballistic K-9 unit from the Melrose Police Department assisted with evidence recovery at the scene. Crime Scene Services from the Massachusetts State Police also responded to process the area and collect forensic evidence.
The investigation remains ongoing as officers work to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and identify those responsible. Residents in the area may notice an increased law enforcement presence while authorities continue their work.
