Kansas City Nightclub Shooting: Two Women Fatally Shot at Status

KANSAS CITY MISSOURI, Two women have died and two other individuals remain hospitalized following an early-morning shooting at a Kansas City nightclub on Sunday.

Deputies with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of gunfire at Status KC, a nightclub near 28th Street and Southwest Boulevard, at approximately 2:00 a.m.

When authorities arrived, they located three women with gunshot injuries.

One woman was pronounced deceased at the scene, while two others were transported to nearby hospitals for emergency treatment.

According to police, one of the hospitalized victims later died from her injuries.

The second surviving female victim is reported to have sustained injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

One of the deceased victims has been identified as Eboni Silas.

Officials have not released the name of the second woman pending notification of next of kin.

In addition, a man arrived at a local hospital by private vehicle in critical condition with injuries believed to be connected to the same incident.

Preliminary information indicates that an altercation involving multiple individuals inside the nightclub escalated, resulting in gunfire that struck four people.

Investigators have not provided further details about what led to the dispute.

The Kansas City Police Department confirmed that the investigation remains active and ongoing. At this time, no arrests have been announced.

Authorities are offering a $25,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest in the case.
