Philadelphia Man Charged in Fatal Shooting of Levittown Girlfriend

LEVITTOWN, a Philadelphia man is accused of shooting and killing his girlfriend outside her residence in Bucks County just hours after she reported him to police for sexual assault and attempted to end their relationship.
Authorities said 32-year-old Yujun Ren turned himself in to the Bristol Township Police Department after the shooting, which left 28-year-old Yuan Yuan Lu dead inside her vehicle early Sunday morning, Feb. 8, 2026.
According to Bucks County prosecutors, Lu had gone to the Philadelphia Police Department on Saturday, Feb. 7, to report that Ren had sexually assaulted her. Investigators said Lu feared Ren and was trying to break off the relationship.
Prosecutors said evidence shows that only hours after Lu contacted police, Ren began stalking her vehicle. Bucks County District Attorney Joe Khan said investigators believe Ren followed Lu before confronting her outside her Levittown residence in Bristol Township.
Ring camera footage from a Philadelphia address reportedly showed Ren driving his silver sedan behind Lu’s white SUV as she traveled home. Authorities said the footage captured Ren following Lu shortly before the fatal shooting, which occurred around 5:40 a.m., according to NBC10.
During police interviews, Ren allegedly admitted that he stood outside Lu’s car and fired a shot through the front driver’s side window. According to an arrest affidavit obtained by FOX29, Ren claimed the shooting was accidental, saying he pulled the gun from his waistband to scare Lu after an argument in which he claimed she said hurtful things and took their pets.
Investigators said Lu had decided to end the relationship by quietly leaving Ren’s South Philadelphia home on Saturday and blocking all communication with him. Arresting documents state that Lu told police she was afraid of Ren and reported that he carried a firearm with him.
Authorities said Ren possessed a concealed carry permit and legally owned a 9mm handgun registered in his name.
Neighbors told investigators that Lu had previously expressed fear of her boyfriend. Peter Gevaras, who lived nearby, said Lu had shared concerns with him and his wife about Ren and mentioned that he regularly carried a gun. Gevaras told NBC10 that Lu often reached out to his wife for support, noting that she had no close family in the area.
Another neighbor, Dan Bogan, said the situation was tragic and that Lu had been trying to leave the relationship and do the right thing.
Ren has been charged with criminal homicide, possession of an instrument of crime, and stalking. Court records show he was denied bail and is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2026.
