Olive Garden Employee Dies Following Tragic Incident in Pennsylvania

WILLIAMSPORT PENNSYLVANIA, An Olive Garden employee has died following a tragic workplace incident that authorities believe was an apparent suicide at a restaurant location in Williamsport.
According to Pennsylvania officials, the incident occurred last Friday, January 30, at the Olive Garden restaurant on North Pennsylvania Avenue. Police were called to the scene shortly after 4 p.m. following reports of a medical emergency inside the restaurant’s kitchen area.
Emergency dispatch recordings indicated confusion and distress at the scene, with callers reporting a burn-related emergency. Responding officers were later informed that a male employee had entered the restaurant’s fryer area. Authorities said coworkers and at least one customer attempted to intervene as the situation unfolded.
During the incident, a female employee sustained burn-related injuries while trying to stop the man, prompting a second ambulance to be dispatched. The injured employee was treated for her injuries, officials said.
The cook was transported to a local hospital with severe injuries and later died, according to authorities. The individual has not been publicly identified.
Both Olive Garden representatives and the Pennsylvania State Police described the incident as an apparent suicide attempt and said no additional details would be released at this time. Officials have not disclosed whether the employee had been experiencing mental health challenges or workplace-related issues.
The restaurant temporarily closed following the incident but has since reopened. Olive Garden has not issued a public statement addressing the tragedy.
