Kansas City Popeye’s Shooting Leaves One Dead and Another Injured, No Arrests Made

KANSAS CITY, A 28-year-old man has died following a shooting at a fast food restaurant in Kansas City, Missouri, Saturday evening, while a second man was injured as authorities continue searching for those responsible.
Police identified the victim as Decorrian Partee, 28, who was one of two men shot shortly after 8 p.m. at a Popeye’s restaurant located near 31st Street and Prospect Avenue, according to the Kansas City Police Department.
Responding officers arrived to find two men suffering from gunshot wounds. One victim was reported to be alert and was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Partee was pronounced dead at the scene, reports said.
Witnesses described an interaction involving multiple individuals that escalated into an exchange of gunfire, striking both men. Investigators have not yet confirmed who fired the shots or what led up to the violence.
Preliminary information suggests the two victims may have been shot by a third party, according to local reports.
Kansas City Police said they are searching for a suspect or suspects who fled the scene in an unknown direction after the shooting.
Detectives are asking anyone who was inside or near the restaurant at the time of the incident to come forward.
