Man Dies After Being Stabbed by Gas Station Employee in Fayetteville Parking Lot, Police Say

FAYETTEVILLE, A man died early Sunday morning after being stabbed by a gas station employee in a parking lot, according to police.
Authorities said the incident occurred at a Circle K gas station located on Cliffdale Road. Officers responded to the scene just before 4 a.m. and found a man suffering from a stab wound in the parking lot.
The victim was identified as 23-year-old Chris’Shawn Ahmad Sewell. Police said Sewell was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.
According to investigators, the on-duty employee, Chaniece Natasha Starks, was involved in an altercation with Sewell prior to the stabbing. Police stated that the two were familiar with one another due to previous interactions at the gas station.
Starks was arrested and charged with first-degree murder. Authorities said she is being held without bond at the Cumberland County Detention Center. Court records show she is scheduled to appear in court at 2:30 p.m. on Monday.
