Former Adult Film Actress Sentenced to 28 Years to Life for Ex-Husband’s Murder
LAS VEGAS, A woman from Las Vegas and former adult film star has been sentenced to 28 years to life in prison for the killing of her ex-husband, according to court records.
Devyn Michaels received the sentence in connection with the August 2023 murder of Johnathan Willette, who was found killed and beheaded inside his home in Henderson. Prosecutors said the killing occurred at Willette’s residence, where investigators later gathered evidence tying Michaels to the crime.
In November, a jury found Michaels guilty of first-degree murder with the use of a deadly weapon. The conviction followed a trial in which prosecutors characterized the case as stemming from a love triangle, while defense attorneys argued that Michaels was not responsible for the killing and maintained her innocence.
During sentencing, the court ordered that Michaels serve a minimum of 28 years in prison before becoming eligible for parole. Based on the length of the sentence, officials said she would be approximately 70 years old at the time she could first seek release.
The case drew significant attention due to the nature of the crime and the backgrounds of those involved. Authorities have not released additional details following the sentencing, and no further court dates have been announced at this time.
