Fresno Authorities Identify Man in Woodward Park Death Investigation

WOODWARD PARK INCIDENT, is under investigation after authorities discovered a deceased man in Fresno’s Woodward Park on Friday morning.
According to the Fresno Police Department, officers were dispatched to the north side of the park, just west of Friant Road, after a jogger found an unresponsive man and contacted authorities. Police and emergency medical personnel responded to the scene and pronounced the individual deceased.
Officials stated that the death is being investigated and is believed to be a suicide. However, authorities emphasized that the investigation remains active as officers continue working to confirm the circumstances surrounding the incident. No further details have been released at this time.
As a result of the investigation, Woodward Street near the park was temporarily closed to the public. Police asked residents and visitors to avoid the immediate area while the scene was processed.
The man has been identified as a Black male in his 40s. His name has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin.
