Piscataway, New Jersey Shooting Leaves Four Family Members Dead; Police Confirm Suspect Killed
Authorities are investigating a deadly incident in Piscataway, New Jersey, that left four people dead, including a suspect who was fatally shot by police following a violent confrontation inside a residence.
According to preliminary information released by law enforcement, officers were dispatched to a home after receiving reports of a serious disturbance involving family members. When police entered the residence, they discovered three individuals deceased. Two of the victims are believed to be the suspect’s grandparents. Their identities have not yet been released as authorities work to notify next of kin.
Police stated that upon arrival, officers encountered a man armed with a machete inside the home. Authorities reported that the suspect advanced toward officers while holding the weapon. Officers attempted to de-escalate the situation and used tasers in an effort to stop him, but those attempts were unsuccessful.
As the threat continued, officers discharged their firearms, striking the suspect. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Law enforcement officials confirmed that there is no ongoing danger to the public.
